Qualified Residential Treatment Program

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) has contracted with the Children’s Review Program to conduct QRTP assessments of children who are being considered for placement in a residential (congregate care) program, in order to fulfill the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA). The assessment will inform DCBS and the courts whether a QRTP program is supported or not.  All QRTP assessments are required to be completed within 30 days of a child being placed in a QRTP program.

For additional information about the process, review the QRTP Assessment Quick Facts on the Helpful Information page.

What do you need to do if you are contacted by CRP regarding a QRTP Assessment?

DCBS

  • Follow SOP 4.51.1 Placement in a Congregate Care (Residential Treatment) Setting as it relates to the QRTP process.
  • Due to the time-limited nature of these assessments, please respond as soon as possible to requests for interviews, records, etc. by QRTP staff.
  • Provide a copy of the final QRTP Assessment and Recommendation report to the child’s treatment provider.

Previous/Current Treatment Providers

  • Email CRP at [email protected] when a new child is admitted to your program.
  • Due to the time-limited nature of these assessments, please respond as soon as possible to requests for interviews, records, etc. by QRTP staff.
  • Please contact the child’s SSW to obtain a copy of the child’s report.
