For Parents/Caregivers
New Vista believes in helping children and families realize their hopes and dreams. We bring people together to make sure children and adolescents get help from everyone working together. We work in a trauma-informed and person-centered system of care. That means we include choices of the child and family throughout the process and we take into account any past traumas. New Vista offers flexible services and evidenced-based therapy. Our therapists work quickly to identify areas of distress and emphasizes partnerships with youth, families, and other care providers.
What to Expect?
It can be a difficult decision to seek help for a child or adolescent. Our caring team of professionals guides you throughout the process to ensure a positive experience. All therapists have master’s degrees and are licensed to work with children and families. At New Vista you will find a supportive environment. Our team works quickly to understand the issues in your child’s life that are most distressing. Our goal is to establish an open and honest partnership with you and your child. You can expect to be treated with dignity and respect.
At Your First Appointment
Plan on 1 to 2 hours for your first visit. Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork. You will need to bring your insurance card or medical card, ID, and proof of guardianship. If your child is taking any medications, please bring a list.
How Long Does Therapy Last?
Parents and caregivers are involved in the decision-making process about therapy services for your child. You are a part of your child’s progress. The length of treatment varies from child to child. At New Vista, we believe in helping your family work towards treatment goals so you can maintain the process of recovery in your own home. Although full recovery can occur anywhere from a couple of sessions of therapy to a few months, the vast majority of people who are treated experience significant improvement within the first one to three sessions.
We look forward to working with you to develop an individualized plan to meet the needs of your family. To get started call our 24-Hour Helpline at 1.800.928.8000.
