Volunteer from Home with New Vista

988 is the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. When you volunteer with New Vista, you'll answer the calls of Central Kentuckians and make a difference in your community.

Suicide is not inevitable for anyone. By starting the conversation, providing support and directing help to those who need it, we can prevent suicide and save lives. As a New Vista 988 Volunteer, you’ll receive extensive training and have access to 24/7 support from experienced professionals. This is a remote, unpaid opportunity.

988 - The Suicide Crisis Hotline

When you're having a mental health crisis, call 988, the three digit number for the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. These calls are answered by local call centers with trained mental health professionals. New Vista answers 988 for Central Kentucky. In this episode we chat with Darcy Miller, New Vista's Regional Director of Emergency Response and Client Engagement, about 988 and how New Vista answers the call.

If you or someone you know are in crisis, call or text 988 or chat online at 988lifeline.org.
