Understanding Substance Use
Substance use affects individuals from all walks of life. It can involve alcohol, prescription medication, or illicit drugs, and it often starts as recreational use or self-medication. Over time, this can lead to substance use disorder, a treatable condition that impacts a person’s physical and emotional health.
Not sure if you or someone else needs help? Learn about the signs of substance use disorder: changes in appearance or hygiene, mood swings or social withdrawal, trouble at work, school, or with finances, and cravings, tolerance, or withdrawal symptoms. Recognizing these signs early can be key to recovery.
Treatment and Counseling Options
New Vista’s substance use services are designed to meet each person where they are in their recovery journey. Our trained providers offer individual and group counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid or alcohol use disorders, outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, and relapse prevention and long-term recovery planning. We believe recovery is possible with the right tools and support.
Substance Use and Mental Health
Many people living with substance use disorder also face mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. New Vista uses integrated care to treat both at the same time, leading to more effective outcomes. We specialize in co-occurring disorders and provide wraparound support for long-term wellness.
