There’s no way around it; life is filled with challenges and roadblocks to overcome for all individuals. These challenges can bring about a wide variety of mental health issues. If challenges in life are inevitable, what does this mean regarding mental health? It comes as no surprise that the COVID-19 pandemic has enhanced everyday challenges that people face, which means mental health issues have also become more prevalent today.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one out of every five people experience a mental health condition. About 75 percent of those with a mental health condition feel emotions resulting from stigma. Stigmas can create fear, shame and guilt, making it an even greater task for a person to seek help who needs help.
Let’s shed light on common questions around mental illness to reduce the stigma.
