New Vista is proud to announce the grand opening of its Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) in Lexington, a new kind of care center created to provide adults with immediate access to mental health and substance use services, no appointment required.
On April 16, 2025, we marked this important milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside community members, leaders, and advocates who share our vision of accessible, compassionate care for all.
Located in the heart of Fayette County, the BHUC is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. This walk-in center is specifically designed to serve adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis that does not require hospitalization, offering an alternative to crowded emergency rooms and long wait times.
“The opening of the Behavioral Health Urgent Care represents a critical step forward in how we serve individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis,” said Dr. David Hudson, Chief Medical Officer at New Vista.
Whether someone is struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, thoughts of suicide, mood swings, or emotional distress, the BHUC is here to help, quickly and without barriers. Visitors are welcomed by a skilled, multidisciplinary team that includes licensed clinicians, psychiatric providers, engagement specialists, and peer support professionals.
Upon arrival, individuals receive a clinical assessment and are connected with a personalized care plan that could include therapy, psychiatric services, or substance use treatment tailored to their needs.
“By providing timely, walk-in access to clinical care, we are strengthening our community’s response to mental health and substance use crises,” Hudson added. “It ensures individuals receive the right level of support when they need it most.”
If you or someone you know is experiencing emotional distress, sudden changes in mood or thinking, or signs of a mental health or substance use crisis, New Vista’s BHUC is here to help. You can also reach our 24-Hour Helpline at 1.800.928.8000 or call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for immediate support.
We believe in seeing the good ahead, and this new center is just one more way New Vista is working to bring hope, healing, and help to our communities.
